The Smithsonian Institute

Dr. Susan Gray is a talented and insightful anthropologist and archeologist who graduated at the top of her class from Harvard, where she had investigated the Skull and Bones society to see how their rituals connected with certain ancient mystery religions. She completed her graduate studies in Oxford, England and then returned to America and began working for the Smithsonian hired by the Institute’s director, a Skull and Bones member who had been impressed with her work. Her work at the Smithsonian has her continuing her investigations of ancient symbols and rituals and their meanings.

A recent brush with a magical amulet containing a malevolent spirit that possessed her has Susan questioning her assumptions that all references to magic within these mystery religions are purely symbolic. Susan is beginning to suspect that these mystic cults hold dangerous secrets that could be putting people in danger and she is searching to get to the bottom of it. With the artifacts, archives, and funding the Smithsonian behind her Susan is determined to expose the secrets of magic and the powerful entities that use it to prey on every day people.
